Visit to the capital city of the Incas Empire “El Tawantinsuyo”, from where the four parts of the Empire (called “suyos”) were managed, Chinchaysuyo (to the north), Contisuyo (to the West), the Collasuyo (to the south) and Antisuyo (to the east). The Incas roads spread to all regions from the “Plaza” (main square). It is for this reason that Cuzco means “navel of the world”. We will visit the Temple of the Sun “El Korikancha”, a place where the sun, one of its major gods, was worshiped. There are some stories skating that when conquerors arrived in the city, this temple was completely laminated in gold. Inside, you can admire perfectly shaped stones and the way conquerors built what is currently the Convent of Santo Domingo , on the basis of this Inca temple. We will continue our visit to Cuzco Cathedral containing different paintings of the so-called Cuzqueño Art School, portraying passages of history during conquest and colony times.
